I looked at Familysearch.org and found OLIVE ABBEY born 1808, Vermont, parents:
Amos Abbey, b. Westminster, Windham, VT
Nancy Chaffee, b. Westminter, Windham, VT

I've been looking for information on my ancestor, Clark Edwards. This morning, I just found a connection to a "Hembel" and Olive Edwards, living in Skaneateles, NY in 1850 with their children, Clark, Mary and Eliza. This is per the 1850 census.

Researching further, I began to wonder whether "Hembel" was, in fact, Kimball. Now your message REALLY has me wondering, given your information on Olive. Would love to have the opportunity to find out if we're talking about the same family.

Since originally posting, I've run across some interesting info. I think that Kimball and Olive may have divorced. I found record of Kimball having married "Delia L." (last name unknown) in Manlius, NY on 08/03/1853. I was able to pick them back up in Wisconsin in 1870. In 1880, he and Delia are still in Wisconsin. I lose them after that.

Olive, however, is living with her married daughter, Clara, in NY in 1860, along with her youngest daughter Eliza. I don't find her in the 1870 census.

I think that the name of Kimball Edwards' father may have been Ambrose. (I find an Ambrose Edwards living with he and Delia in the 1870 census. Ambrose is living with a "Rodolphus Edwards" in the 1860 census in Wisconsin.)

Ambrose's wife's name was Sally. She died while visiting her daughters in Baraboo in 1858. So far, I haven't found out anymore about that, but am hoping to find more in the newspaper archives.

Hoping that someone will jump in and share their thoughts, suggestions, additional information.....

Here's what I know about Kimball. He appeared to marry Olive Abbe in Williston (1825) and had a son, Augustus. Augustus married Mildred Ross in Barnet, Vt (1847). They in turn had numerous kids (I have the details if helpful) and moved to Brookfield, MA and died there in 1893. There's a copy of the North Brookfield Death Registry showing that Kimball & Olive were his parents. I have good records from Augustus to present but have little/no information on Kimball.

I do know that the Rev Jonathan Edwards' sons (Jonathan & Pierrepont) were in the same area of Vt in the late 1700's (Johnson,Vt & Montgomery,Vt). Therefore, there may be a connection to Kimball (old letters from relatives say there is), but I have yet to prove it.

I also have a 1840 Derby,VT census showing 2 adults & 3 children between 5-10 (1 boy & 2 girls).
